QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1.- How can I register if I don't have a credit card?
R= You can register with cash payment in your local currency or through Western Union, request the information by email at registration@worldarchitecturecompetitions.com
2.- Is it possible to pay with USDT crypto?
R=If possible, via the polygon network (POL), contact us by email registration@worldarchitecturecompetitions.com to get the deposit address.
3.- We have observed that the provided contour information appears to differ slightly from publicly available topographic data (e.g., CADMapper, TopoExport, Google Earth), particularly regarding the elevation of the lighthouse complex and the surrounding slopes. Are participants permitted to adjust or reinterpret the terrain slightly beyond the defined boundary to better reflect the actual site conditions?
R=The provided DWG file is suitable for the conceptual project exercise. If any contestant wishes to modify it to create a faithful copy of the real-world environment, they may do so.
4- The term "Temporary Shelter" is unclear. Does it refer to a habitable space for use in case of adverse weather conditions, where visitors might need to stay at the project for a few hours or a day?
R=The Temporary Shelter (Refugio Temporal) is conceived as a minimal, introspective, and protected space, intended for short stays of contemplation, retreat, or experiencing the extreme landscape. It is not a hotel or conventional tourist accommodation, but a habitable capsule that allows one to spend a few hours—or a night—in direct contact with the ocean, the wind, and the light of the Cape. It must offer basic conditions of weather protection, rest, and privacy, while maintaining an intense connection with the horizon and the surrounding landscape.
5.- Is it permitted to extend parts of the building beyond the defined site boundary as a cantilever projecting toward the ocean?
If allowed, would these projections be included in the calculation of the 40% maximum land occupancy?
R= It is possible to place part of the project on a cantilever, provided it is structurally feasible and does not add to the percentage of the cantilevered portion.
6.- Is it acceptable to redesign or integrate the existing parking area and street tourist / hawker shops into the proposal to improve the overall site condition and reduce visual clutter?
R= It is possible to modify that part as long as it benefits the proposal.
7.- Are participants allowed to include limited complementary spaces (such as a library, café, shop, restrooms, or parking adjustments) in addition to the required program?
R= It is possible to include complementary spaces, as long as the required program is not reduced and it benefits the end user's experience.
8.- Is it permitted to slightly modify the natural ground level contours beyond the site boundary on the ocean-facing side, particularly where existing slopes may block views, in order to improve visibility or create partially underground spaces?
R= The site's topography can be modified by leveling the terrain where the project requires; however, the terrain cannot be modified according to the project's boundaries; the given perimeter must be respected.
